Tonight I found a white wine that really showcases the flavor of one of my favorite green things to make, which is pan seared broccolini! I can eat a whole serving of this stuff by itself and be content.
Tonight I charred and sautéed two bundles of it along with some fresh garlic in my ceramic Allclad skillet. It’s really good for high heat dishes like this! Then I doused it in olive oil and squeezed some fresh lemon on. And to finish things off, I sprinkled a generous amount of my “Spicy Garlick” seasoning blend on top.
This great mix of flavor and texture are exactly what I needed on this cold winter evening and prep-time was only about 20 minutes.
Now back to the wine ….🍷
Charred Broccolini, South African Chenin Blanc, “Lady And The Pepper Spicy Garlick” Blend
The white wine that I found at my local Total Wine outlet to pair my one dish meal with was a 2023 South African Chenin Blanc, by this company called “The Wedge”.
I went with this one because it has lemony notes along with hints of floral fruits like honeysuckle and golden apple. It’s the perfect pairing to enhance the lemon already in the dish and because of its soft dry finish. The 10 dollar price tag also got my attention! 😊
